Evaluation of My Three Jingles

As our task we made three different jingles for SNC live radio station. The three jingles were for the news, for the promo and an ident. The programs I used were 'garage band' and 'adobe sound booth’, these programs were easy to use but only when we were thought the correct way to use them.

For my station ident I used garage band for the background music. For garage band you have to create your own music using the variety of sounds that the programme provides you by putting the effects together. The news jingle music wwas easier to create than the station indent music because the single sound effect that I used already sounded extremely like a news jingle only I added a bit of beat boxing at the end to make it sound a bit more youthful. The only problem with my news jingle was that it ended 'sharply' and needed to be quietened down by using the programme 'sound booth'. My news jingle lasted approximately 10 - 15 seconds.

My ident had a lot of detail in it and took quite a while to make because or all the different effects that i used on garage band, I thought that it sounded quite good though even though I can't play it on a pc. My ident lasted approximately 10 seconds.

For my promo I downloaded two songs 'get in my car' by 50 cant and 'wicked so' by dj hazzard. I downloaded these songs for free off YouTube through I tunes. I edited the music on 'sound booth' to suite the recordings that I made, it was quite simple once I got the hang of it. To make my promo last for a longer time, I made the music that I downloaded begin before I put my recordings in and finish after the recordings stopped.

When I recorded I used then voices of me and Neil. It was quite difficult to record due to the insolence of the other people in my class :) it took quite a lot of time but eventually we got there. Another problem that I had was the programme Adobe 'sound booth', it decided to be difficult with me and forget my recordings even though I saved them quite thoroughly.

In conclusion, I found that during Jingle Production, it was rather easy but still extremely frustration at the same time. I thought that my jingles were pretty damn good.


I need to get this to 500 words which is somewhat unrealistic but I’ll just add this bit here Maureen will never ever know really, seeing as my jingle went so well I don’t really need to waste added words on it do i? J
Apparently this is only 457 words, it’s quite a fail. J
Although It soon shall be 500 words which is all good in the hood (Y) I am letting Neil write this and really need to punctuate his name. :/
